Crash Reader

Read a Windows event log

Upload crash-log.csv (from the line below) or an Event Viewer CSV export. Free. The file is read once, then deleted; it is never stored.

Get the file (Windows 10 or 11)

Press the Windows key, type PowerShell, press Enter.
Copy this line, paste it into PowerShell (right-click pastes), press Enter.
Find crash-log.csv on your Desktop and upload it here.

PowerShell, read-only: last 90 days

Get-WinEvent -FilterHashtable @{LogName='System','Application'; Id=41,6008,6005,6006,1074,1001,7,51,153,55,17,18,19,47,4101,20,7031,7034,1000,1002; StartTime=(Get-Date).AddDays(-90)} -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue | Select-Object TimeCreated,Id,ProviderName,LogName,Message | Export-Csv -Path "$env:USERPROFILE\Desktop\crash-log.csv" -NoTypeInformation -Encoding UTF8

Using Event Viewer instead

Open Event Viewer, select Windows Logs > System, choose Save All Events As..., pick CSV (Comma Separated). That file has every System event, so it is bigger; if it is over 2 MB, use the PowerShell line instead. Program crashes are in the Application log, which the PowerShell line includes.

Nothing came out?

If the file is empty, Windows recorded none of these events in the last 90 days, which is good news. If PowerShell shows red text, copy the line again: it must be pasted whole, on one line.
